One of the worst things that can happen to any blogger is having a writers’ block. This is why it is important to plan blog content in advance. Most successful bloggers have a content plan prepared at least 6 months in advance.

Recently, I have been getting to grips with planning my content at the beginning of every month. It gives me the ability to publish my work online without the stress of coming up with new ideas.

For digital creators, social media isn’t really just about putting out cute pictures anymore. It’s about building a brand and being very strategic about it.

CREATE A SCHEDULE

Having a schedule for your blog posts is a great idea. It’s even better to space out your content throughout the week.

Another thing that has helped my blog, is the ability to schedule my work on Hootsuite, and Tailwind. They have been such helpful tools for publishing all my content and clients workload. I would really encourage every content creator to invest in at least one of them. Hootsuite and Tailwind are great platforms to invest in as it helps to schedule your workload in advance.

KNOW YOUR OBJECTIVE

Understanding what your main objectives for your blog will really help you with the future plans that you have for it. This could be if you want to:

  • Drive more traffic to your blog

  • You want brand recognition

  • Gain more email subscribers

  •  Attract more clients

  • Get more affiliate sales

  •  Know your audience

This is a vital stage for your blog, you need to know who you are targeting just so you can get your content towards the right readers. There are different ways to help you figure this out; Google Analytics is a sufficient method to use and also Google console. When you know the exact people you are targeting you will be able to have an idea of the type of content you should create.

KEYWORD RESEARCH

This is something that I am working on, each blog post you publish should be written out with keywords in mind. Keywords that have been researched well will allow your blog posts to be found on search engines such as Google and on a platform such as Pinterest.

Take some time to use keyword tools such as Google Keyword Planner and Google trends to work out popular keywords in your niche.

BLOG IDEAS

This is a crucial step, if you are struggling with blog content, I would advise you to have a lookout for trending topics, joining Pinterest or Facebook groups for inspiration.

Another way to help with blog creation is to use trending topics, not only will this help you to produce content but it will help attract a wider audience when you write about popular topics. For example, if you are a fashion blogger always research and see what the latest trends are; at the moment power suits are very trendy, also a lot of people are into neon and leopard prints. The next thing to do is to check topics that a related to your niche, whether you blog about makeup and skincare, people are always on the lookout for a step by step guide on how to use products, and to also read makeup reviews.

EXAMPLES OF CONTENT IDEAS

Holiday Content – Travel Itinerary – Holiday gift guides

Seasonal Content –  this is content that is usually related to holiday and special occasions. The great thing about seasonal content is that it can help you to generate a lot of blog posts.

A launch – This is a great one to talk about; for example, there is always a product launch whether in fashion beauty etc. It is always a good idea to write about launches.

Fashion Week – if you are a fashion blogger it would be a good plan to talk about your own style, popular fashion shows, designers and the latest fashion weeks.

CREATING A CONTENT CALENDAR

A content calendar will save you a lot of time, you can create one by using google calendar. This will keep you on track for the content you have to create each week.

START WRITING!

So now that you have planned everything, make sure to stick to your content planner and produce as many blog posts as you can. I hope this post helped.
